Harry James & His Orchestra
Harry James was born on March 15, 1916, in Albany, Georgia. He died on July 5, 1983, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

By the age of nine, James joined his father playing trumpet in a travelling circus's band. In 1937, James joined Benny Goodman's band. Less than two years later, James formed his own band. For a short time, Frank Sinatra was the dinger for James's band.

In 1941, his hit song, "You Made Me Love You" sold over a million copies. In 1943, James married actress Betty Grable.

James's band continued performing throughout the 1940s and 1950s. In the 1960s, James's band played long engagements in Las Vegas, Nevada, but still toured. James and Betty Grable divorced in 1965.
